Evaluations
SPYA Field Hockey believes firmly in forming evenly skilled teams. We do not stack teams with the best players, nor do we form teams with players who are only new to the game or need to be developed. As such, every child participating in the fall season must undergo a mandatory evaluation. This is NOT a tryout. This is a series of drills to understand where the kids rank on their skill in order to form even teams. Information on when to sign up for evaluations will be made available in July 2025 for our upcoming fall season.
Philosophy
SPYA FH is a recreational league. It is a place for kids to learn the game of field hockey, develop their skill, make friendships, all while competing in a safe and fun environment. We participate each fall in the Lehigh Valley Youth Field Hockey League, where games are held at each grade level. There are no tournaments, no rankings and no championships. More information can be found on our league and who participates at www.lvyfh.org.
SPYA FH is an organization run purely on volunteers. Without our volunteers, there would be no program! We are always seeking people to volunteer and help grow the game.
